‘Jump’ is a new single by Sofie Winterson, an Amsterdam-based musician who specialises in warm, reassuring indie-pop. The subtle groove of the track comes from a textured mixture of fuzzy guitars and shuffling drums, combined with distant flute countermelodies and pizzicato strings. She describes the track as being “about wanting to make a big change in life, but not knowing where that change will take you. It’s meant to comfort you in this state of insecurity. It can encourage you not to overthink where that change will lead you, since you will be a different person by the time you’ll get there.” ‘Jump’ is taken from Winterson’s new album, Southern Skies, which is due for release on June 9th, 2023. -Dan Peeke
